After falling to $106 a barrel this week, after Hurricane Gustav proved to be not as bad as expected, the price of oil has risen three dollars to $109 a barrel. The rise is contributed to a weakened dollar.

It is believed that Gustav's impact will be felt next week though, as crude inventory reports show that instead of rising 500,000 barrels, oil fell by 1.8 million a barrels.

Oil companies in the Gulf of Mexico are slowly starting up again, but still 96 percent of oil production in that area was still shutdown as of Wednesday.
