Michael DeBakey dies at 99 |
Michael DeBakey, a renowned heart surgeon, died Friday at 99-years-old. He died of natural causes at the Methodist Hospital.
DeBakey came to Houston in 1948, and made Houston the world leader fro heart and aortic surgery.
The DeBakey High School for Health Professions, which was established in 1972, was named after DeBakey, who initiated the idea for a schol to motive underprivileged teens to work in medicene.
