Since its release on Friday Apple, Inc. has sold 1 million iPhones. It was launched in 21 countries, including the US at the same time.
However, the new iPhone 3G had a series of software problems. The phones, in order to be activated, had to connect to Apple's servers, which overloaded the phones. There were long lines in the stores as employees struggled to the phone working.
New software for the old iPhone was released, requiring new activation, leaving many of the owners without service.
